Annual Garden Checklist

The Landscaping season starts as the Maple sap flows. Below is an annual checklist of jobs that are contemplated for an annual maintenance contract. Use this as a handy guide for planning your season. Feel free to print and tick off all that apply to your property when asking about our gardening services.

Fruit tree/shrub prune and spray (starts when maple sap runs)

___ Spray all fruit trees with Lime Sulphur mix. This non-toxic environmentally friendly mix accounts for up to 90% of blemishes on fruit and is the only tree spray we offer. Must be done before leaf buds open.
___ Prune dead and rubbing branches
___ Prune cross-pointed and watersprout branches
___ Prune branch tips for tree shape and fruit

Spring cleanup Schedule

___ Remove winter debris and rake lawn.
___ Dethatch/aerate lawn.
___ Remove/prune debris from shrubs, beds and gardens.
___ Blow off decks, patios, sidewalks, and driveways.
___ Weed where necessary.

Summer weeding/trimming and Pruning schedule

___ Remove debris from shrubs, beds and gardens.
___ Deadhead and or cut back perennials and annuals.
___ Weed all beds, hard surfaces and planters.
___ Add fertilizer to amend soil.
___ Add a fresh layer of mulch to bed areas and tree rings (mulch should be added once beds have been weeded)
___ Edge/cultivate existing flower/planting beds.
___ Prune/trim/weed all hedge material.
___ Blow off decks, patios, sidewalks, and driveways.
___ Cut lawn weekly.
___ Fertilize lawn monthly

Fall cleanup Schedule

___ Rake leaves and dispose.
___ Remove/prune debris from shrubs, beds and gardens.
___ Weed where necessary.
___ Add fertilizer to amend soil.
___ Blow off decks, patios, sidewalks, and driveways.
